Welcome
to the Ohio Valley Ski Council, Inc. website. This
is your link to fellow skiers and snowboarders throughout
Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia! The OVSC
is composed of 16 ski clubs in cities that stretch
from along the Ohio River in Southern Indiana and
West Virginia to Eastern Kentucky and to the shores
of Lake Erie in Northern Ohio.
The
clubs include: Alpine, Cincinnati, Corbeau, Dayton,
Columbus, Kittyhawk, Lafayette Ski & Snowboard Club, Newark, TriState, Indianapolis,
Lexington, Louisville, Sandusky, Skiers, Ltd., Frankfort and Ohio Valley Ski Club.
Combined, our clubs include nearly 5,000 skiers and
boarders in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.
The
OVSC board includes executive officers, trip and race
directors, and representatives of all our local clubs.
Their primary function is to provide ski and racing
opportunities to our member clubs. The board meets every
two to three months in the Cincinnati area, which is
roughly our geographic center.
The
OVSC organizes a series of trips each year that are
open to the members of all OVSC clubs. We generally
offer two annual North American ski trips, a European
trip that combines skiing with touring opportunities,
a summer ski trip to take advantage of the snow south
of the equator, and a two-month racing program at regional
and western resorts. Most of our local clubs participate
in these offerings. Each of our clubs adds their own
exciting compliment of ski trips, sports and social
activities for their members.
OVSC
is a member of the National Ski Council Federation
(SkiFederation.org).
The NSCF is an educational organization providing support
to 24 councils across the country.
